Earth, 2070
Every pandemic crisis is soon followed by the next, as long as the air pollution forces people to stay at home. The population of Earth has now reached 9 billion people and giant urban complexes increasingly multiply on the livable part of the planet. The need for calmer and safer living conditions is greater than ever. Remote suburban densities are promising for a healthier living.
In the meanwhile, new ethics change the jobs, education, entertainment and almost everything else seem to operate mainly from distance. Now too often government restrictions are obliging people to keep “social distancing”. As a reply, augmented reality technology is becoming a part of every day’s life and manages to minimize the distances.
People are changing the reasons and the way they need and desire to circulate. Secure vehicles transport people using every available technology. Different needs for connection between suburbs and urban centers lead to autonomous, green transport networks enabled via the internet of things.
The new dwelling must adapt to the new reality, providing safety and protection, comfort, and coziness. A place for work, entertainment, virtual meetings, basic health care while being affordable at the same time.

Prefabricated modular units form an airtight, welcoming, comfortable place, that fulfills every need of a single person or more. These modular units create a place that satisfies the tenant‘s specific needs. Foremost, a dedicated hall provides sterilization through the entrance for both people and objects. Artificial intelligence installations and applications inspect the air pollution and contamination levels and adjust the isolation and quarantine measures that need to be held. On the main window screen among all the other “smart” interactions between the dwelling and its user, they inform for the ability of going out through color warnings of hazard level. An augmented reality room makes communication and contact possible even during imposed isolation.

However, the innovation comes to the detachable and mobile unit, that contains its own sterilization hall, and it is characterized by energy autonomy and independence. The “e-munity”, equipped to the fullest for autonomous living, is first and foremost a place of isolation for a sick family member or a place of precautionary quarantine. In addition, it can be easily moved on driveless tractors rented on demand and be attached on urban complexes, that provide energy, water, and drainage. It can be also attached with ease to a hospital and turn into a personal ward.It can just as easily be a luxury hotel suite or an extension of a friend’s house. This way, the tenant has their own, familiar place that can be literally moved and harmonize with the requirements of the occasion. Standardization in housing ensures economy, convenience and efficiency in design and construction and makes it possible to create houses of various sizes for all people with different economic status. The easy traffic of a part of the house and the versatility that allows it to adapt to different needs, are inescapable requirements of the home of the future.
